Reflection & Changes

Two more months left, we will be in 2010. Hard to believe. Got to start on my 2010 goal list. This past New Years...instead of doing New Year's Resolution(which barely lasts a day), I decided to set up goals. Well, I can proudly say that I completed two items on my 2009 goal list. My list wasn't very long to begin with but, I'm nonetheless satisfied that I exceeded my goals. Not only did I run a 10k, but I also completed my first Half Marathon. Not too shabby, for someone, who just picked up running as sport a year ago. Still don't enjoy it, but it's a great work out. Oh, and I signed up for my very first mini triathlon. =)
As for the other two items, I'm still actively searching for a new job and have begun to shoot a lot more, too. I haven't been able to take a class, simply because there isn't enough time in the day with my commute, work out routine and studying for my insurance.

Joshua Tree National Park

***Edit*** On Monday went to the Dr., since my insect bite continued to swell. Will post the pictures, when I get home from work. According to the Dr. I had a bad reaction to a bee sting. I don't quite believe him, because I didn't feel a bee sting me. In my not so medical opinion, I think I was bit by a spider. But that's just me.

Weekend Recap: Swank Event Solutions & Santa Rosa Plateau

This past weekend I had plenty of opportunities to shoot with my new camera. Switching from Nikon to Canon was definitely a good move. I'm in love with it. Here are some photos from this weekend. All the images are straight out of the camera (SOOC), and were shot with a 50 mm 1.8 or a 85 mm 1.8.

Canon 50D

Initially I wanted to purchase a used full-frame camera (at a very good price) at a local used camera store. However, by the time my payday rolled around someone else had purchased it. Oh well, I'm sure there will be other opportunities to buy a used full-frame. So instead, I drove down to Samy's and purchased myself the Canon 50, along with the 50mm 1.8 lens. And to be honest, I'm quite happy with my purchase. And this past weekend, I had plenty of opportunities to use my new camera.

Work in Progress

These last few weeks, I've been obsessing over my blog templates and their layouts. I don't know how many times I have changed them already, I'm still not quite satisfied they way our blog looks. So this weekend, and with Jared working the next 5 days straight....I decided to brush up on my html skills and also teach myself how to use Adobe Illustrator. Here what I came up with so far.
