Christmas came and went. Let's bring on 2010!! We don't have anything exciting planned. We're going to see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at the Walt Disney Concert Hall tomorrow night! I was able to sore super cheap tickets, thanks to Goldstar. Not quite sure, if y'all are familiar with this band. However when ever I hear this band they conjure some fun college memories, specifically our times spent at the "Roadhouse" . Anyway, here's a youtube clip:
Aren't they a fun band to see on New Year's Eve?! Unlike others years, I'm not doing anything grand. This is rather low key for me. As for Jared, for the most part, he spent New Years almost always at his folks' place. Since we've known each other this will be our 4th New Year's together. Crazy right?! And we've known each other for 11 years. Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR and be safe!!! BRING ON 2010!

Christmas Eve
This year the holidays were kinda weird, as my parental units weren't in California this year. Not to mention, Jared had to work today as well. So, Nita and I threw together a last minute Christmas Eve dinner. I'm to lazy and tired to blog about it, so head over to Kitchen Stories by Nita. It's her cooking blog.
Tomorrow, oops actually today...wow, can't believe it's passed midnight already. But then again, it makes sense, since Nita and I went to the 10pm mass. Anyway, just got side tracked there, Jared and I are heading over to Nita's In-Law's. Can't wait for all the yummy food!!! My scale will hate, but I'm on holiday until Saturday. Then my work out routine starts again. =/

A Photo Recap
I need to get better at this blogging. With my long commute and work out schedule, I'm typically beat by the time I get home. And all I want to do is sit on the couch and watch mindless crap on TV. So here's a quick recap with photos, since we all love posts that includes pictures. =)
Gotta love the winter skies in California, not the traffic. haha. We were on our way to my Christmas dinner party.
The skylines of L.A. a clear night, after the rains we had a few weekend ago. Photo taken after, we returned from seeing How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
Some Christmas Light in downtown Riverside. We, along with the Austin Family, wanted to see the Festival of Lights at the Mission Inn. Unfortunately, a million other people had the same idea, and the wait to see the Lights was over an hour. Of course, we had no desire to stand in that line.
The next three photos are not mine. I found them on flickr, from user Steven Miller
The Mission Inn is an amazing place, and their brunch at the Hotel ~ simply divine! Hopefully, next year I'll plan better, and the bestie and her family didn't wast their time driving up. Also, here's the website to The Festival of Lights.
A photo of me and the bestie Marlith.
Unfortunately, I didn't take any good photos of the "A" family that day. Marlith, might have taken some. So once she posts her photos, I'll steal a pic and post here.

Rain, Rain, Rain
It's finally raining in California. Actually, we haven't had much rain this winter season. All this rain made me think of this German children song:
There isn't an exact translation to this song, but they have similar songs in English such as this one:
Es regnet, es regnet,
es regnet alle werden nass
und wenn es genug geregnet hat
dann hört es wieder auf.
Es regnet, es regnet,
es regnet Tag und Nacht,
und wenn's genug geregnet hat,
die Sonne wieder lacht.
It's raining, it's pouring
the old man is snoring,
bumped his head
and he went to bed
and he couldn't get up in the morning.
Rain, rain, go away;
come again another day;
little Johnny wants to play.
Christmas comes early...
Jared will be getting one of his Christmas gift, this Sunday. I bought him tickets to see Dr. Seuss: How The Grinch Stole Christmas at the Pantages Theater in L.A.. I know, it's not Sunday yet, so why am I posting about it now? Trust me, I wouldn't if Jared didn't know about the gift. But unfortunately he does.
As most of you know, Jared works every other weekend. This weekend is his turn to work. However, at the beginning of the week, he informed me that he would be getting Sunday off, since he traded shifts with one of his co-workers. Apparently, this coming Monday is his co-workers' daughters birthday. And naturally she wanted to spend her day with her child. Perfect, everything was working out in my favor, since I found these amazingly cheap tickets, yet great seats as well, on Goldstar, and therefore was able to purchase them. My goal was to surprise Jared with them. Little did I know, that Jared's supervisor hadn't approved the switch yet ~ something Jared also neglected to tell me. Ugh men! Always leaving out the important information! So, this afternoon, he calls me up to tell that he didn't get Sunday off after all. Of course, I'm freaking out. Ok, to be honest, I was a little pissed, since I was under the assumption that the switch was already approved by his supervisor. Not to mention, that I wasn't able to return the tickets nor would I be able to change the ticket dates on them. I was steamed for quite a bit, so I told Jared that I was going to give him part 1 of his Christmas gift on Sunday ~ the tickets to see the Grinch, which my sister would be enjoying with me instead of him. Of course, he was bummed. But there was nothing I could do about it. Jared shouldn't have forgotten to tell me, that they will still waiting on approval.
In the end though, everything worked out. Once Jared got to work this evening, his supervisor mentioned that another co-worker would be able to come in as well. Yeah, now, we're able to enjoy the musical together after all.

On another note, Jared passed he DEA panel interview, which mean he moves on to the next phase. The up coming phase is the medical and physical fitness examination, then the lie dectector and psych evaluation. Woohoo, these next steps shouldn't be too hard, since Jared his physical fit as it is. Oh, I also posted a new post on my photography blog. So mosey on over to the other blog.
Delightfully,
Nina
p.s.: it's late, so please excuse any sort of mistakes. =) Mucho Gracias.

Black Friday
I know, i know, i know...so behind on my blog postings. After Thanksgiving, I always look forward for all the sales on Black Friday. Yes, I'm one of those crazy shopper that will venture out into the bitter cold at 5am. A few weeks before Thanksgiving, I usually scour the internet to see, if any of the Black Friday ads been leaked already. Once the leaked ads are posted online, I go through them all to plan out my strategies, meaning which stores to hit up first.
Typically, I skip Walmart and Best Buy. My reason for doing is so a) I'm not that crazy to camp out the night before the in the bitter cold (Best Buy), and b) I don't want to get trampled to death. Shoppers at Walmart are ruthless!!! I'm sure everyone heard of the holiday shopper, who got stampeded to death last year. Thanks, but no thanks. Usually I hit up Target, or Kohl's or the office supply stores. This year however I only had to make one stop, as I was searching for computer related items only. Lucky, for me Staples opened their doors at 6am, which meant I didn't have to wake up at 4am. After all the madness in the morning, I crawl right back into bed!!! Believe me, my bed is literally screaming my name to crawl back in. Dealing with crazy shoppers on Black Friday, falling back into bed feels good. In the afternoon, I try to hit up the big department stores at the Mall and Best Buy, to see if I can get lucky and still score some of the door buster items. Now, on to the loot I got this past weekend:
